GMORS has developed several unique rapid gas decompression (RGD) resistant elastomer compounds for use in Oil & Gas applications and all have been independently tested & certified by Element Hitchin. Compounds are designed to withstand aggressive chemicals and gases over a wide temperature range while maintaining their sealing properties, and the specific requirements are NORSOK M-710 / ISO 23936, NACE TM0297, API6A and TOTAL GS EP PVV 142.
GMORS Material Certified
Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) is a phenomenon that can occur with a rubber sealing device when large pressure gradients exist between its interior and exterior sections. Due to pressure gradients, gas may diffuse or permeate out of elastomers when there is a rapid pressure drop. Therefore, to evaluate RGD resistant for O-Ring seals, we run tests to avoid the seal failure and seal leakage in the rapid pressure drop, the high temperature, high pressure, flammable and corrosion environment. RGD material is usually seen in Oil and Gas market, or in any application that a rapid drop in gas pressure may happen.
